Pain, often referred to as the fifth vital sign, is an immense human problem that I personally face every day, due to the rheumatoid arthritis I have had since high school. To better understand this pain, I have been passionate about experimenting and analyzing data through research – both in the wet lab, and in clinical settings. The excitement of reaching meaningful conclusions, applicable to the human experience, keeps me fascinated. Moreover, developing my own experiments has taught me the value of critical thinking and determination while also instilling in me a profound respect for the biological intricacies of life. I continue to use these skills even outside research settings, so that I can better approach large problems and find solutions.
